Sorry I haven't been around to post much lately. I was out of town this weekend -- a cousin had her baby shower on Sunday, so I'd made plans to go home for the weekend, and then I found out that my dad was taking his antique tractor for its first pull in Auburn on Saturday, so Auburn's Fall Free For All Fair/Festival pretty much consumed my entire Saturday, in a good way.
Attempting to get a little homework done before what I've decided will officially be my Hardcore Homework Power Hour from here through the rest of the semester -- Tuesday afternoons. Pre-emptive strike, I suppose. Maybe I WON'T have to sit at a table in the library in silence for five hours tomorrow ....

Date: 2010-10-07 10:23 am (UTC)Also, I read your intro post here, and can relate to the experience. I made my first online diary on OD in 2002 also, but FOD, not TOD, lol. I wasn't even aware of TOD until a long time later, and I wasn't a teen anyway. =P But yeah, I was on there for 3-4 yrs, until it sank, and then I fled to Bloop, and was there for 3 yrs, until it sank, and then I did a half-hearted LJ thing on and off for a bit for the past 3 yrs (I know those times add up later than 2010 haha, but there was some overlap each time, ya know, just like you had), and now I got this one like a month ago. Honestly, I love it here way more than I ever cared about LJ, it's just a different vibe here. BUT that's beside the point. =P Point was, I've had similar experiences, and I know what it's like to jump ship from a place you considered home, and climb aboard some other new ship you saw, and have to find your way around it and try to meet new people to spend your time with and whatnot. It's never fun leaving the old one behind, but it is nice to find new friends at the new one! ^^

Also -- you've met George Romero? How'd that happen? (Yes, I stalked your profile page. :-P)

Date: 2010-10-08 08:27 am (UTC)I met him at Fango (Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors) Con Chicago, 2009. He was awesome!! I did the photo op (duh!! hahaha, also did one with Doug Bradley), and was wearing last year's girl's fitted Fango shirt, which is two bloody dripping prints over the boobs, heh, and as I stepped up to him he gestured at my chest and was like, Looks like someone's grabbed ya, eh. Or something along those lines. hehehe! During his talk he was quite funny, and he cracked me up more because he sounded just like Chong. Every other sentence there was a "man" stuck in somewhere, He must have been a stoner in the 70s! Hilarious. But he's super friendly and aside from the line for his sig being massive and therefore taking years to get through, he also sat there chatting with each person for a moment, and some of them for quite a few! And when I go up there he remembered me, 'cause of my shirt, lmao. Oh, and in case you were curious, he is a giant! LOL. I'm 5'2 and he towered above me! I don't even come to his shoulder, short by a few inches! And his hands, omg they are huge, his fingers are so long!! hahahaha.
hehe, well I definitely found that comment perfect! Other people must just have no sense of humor. ;P
